  • Served as general corporate counsel for leading data, AI and cloud services company, headquartered in Chandler, Arizona with offices throughout the U.S., Canada and India, employing more than 550 people globally and serving multiple Fortune 500 customers in the financial services, retail, healthcare and tech industries, ultimately resulting in the company’s $108 million acquisition in 2021 by a publicly-traded, global analytics and digital solutions firm

 

  • Represented regional fast-food chain with over 85 locations in California, Arizona and New Mexico, drafting and revising commercial lease agreements, negotiating with landlords and property brokers on client’s behalf and communicating with/advising multiple members of client’s parent company

 

  • Served as general corporate counsel for nationally accredited preschool with multiple campuses throughout the East Valley, drafting employment agreements, company policies and employee handbook provisions, defending client, employee and shareholder claims against company and advising on day-to-day employment issues

 

  • Represented mother in medical malpractice/wrongful death action brought on behalf of her deceased son against in-patient drug rehabilitation facility, supervising physician and physicians group, involving standard of care and medication experts and resulting in a partial settlement favorable to client followed by a 4-day jury trial against physician and physicians group

 

  • Served as general corporate counsel for merchant service and payment processing company, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah with a portfolio of thousands of merchants across the U.S., drafting numerous types of agreements (including merchant service provider, merchant processing application, end user license, payment gateway partner and reseller agreements), litigating claims against independent agents, merchants and payment servicers and ensuring compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), the Card Association Rules and other applicable laws and regulations

 

  • Represented personal representative in complex probate proceeding with estate assets exceeding $2.5 million, several tracts of land and over 50 secured and unsecured creditors, resulting in an auction selling substantially all estate assets

 

  • Served as general corporate counsel for landscape construction and maintenance company, headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona with over 300 employees and licensed in Arizona, Nevada, California, Idaho, Texas, Colorado and Mexico, litigating claims against vendors, contractors and homeowners associations, defending complaints alleging construction defects, negotiating shareholder buyout and drafting requisite corporate minutes, resolutions and formation documents

 

  • Represented homeowners association of Mesa, Arizona community comprised of 325 single-family homes in litigation brought against the developer/builder and subcontractors alleging defective design and construction of common area retention basins, drainage structures and masonry walls, involving numerous depositions, voluminous documents stored in a document repository and several civil engineering experts, resulting in a sizable settlement favorable to client

 

  • Served as general corporate counsel for alcohol and substance abuse treatment facility offering intensive outpatient programs and residential in-patient detoxification and rehabilitation services in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, including drafting and maintaining corporate and organizational documents, defending EEOC charges of discrimination and other complaints filed by clients or employees and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including HIPAA and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act

 

  • Drafted hundreds of estate planning documents for all types of people from high net worth executives and individuals involved in professional sports to the average married couple owning a single-family home, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills and powers of attorney (financial, health care and mental health care)
